Help bring Christmas joy and hope to those in need.

Community members once again have the chance to make the Christmas season a little brighter for area families through the annual Christmas Angel program.

The program provides the opportunity for individuals to adopt an Angel and help fill the wish lists of families who may be struggling.

The First State Community Bank of Portageville invites you to join in sharing the spirit of Christmas with those in need. "We have contacted local charitable organizations who have prepared a Christmas list for children and nursing home residents who are in need. You can help by becoming a Christmas Angel," said Jana Morris, branch manager.

Choose an angel tag from our Christmas tree before December 16. Each angel lists the age, sex and clothing size of a needy person or description of an item that is needed.

Provide a gift for the person as described on the tag.

Attach the angel tag to your wrapped gift and put your gift under our Christmas tree.

Before Christmas, your gift will be given to a local charity for delivery to the person described on your angel tag.

You can make a difference in someone's life.

You can be a Christmas Angel.
