NEW MADRID -- They have had the Foundation for several years; now, board members want to start building on it.

The New Madrid County R-1 School District Education Foundation Board of Directors met earlier this month, appointing new members to their board and urging Foundation Executive Director Brad Kolwyck to help them get the word out about the Foundation.

However, it wasn't until this year that the Foundation really attracted the attention of donors. According to Kolwyck, recently a local family donated $10,000 for the creation of a scholarship. Other smaller donations have followed.
