BENTON - A Jackson woman is in custody on charges stemming from a shoplifting investigation.

Genny M. Jones, 28, is charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and the misdemeanors of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, and stealing.

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Senior Scott County Deputy Matt Scroggins responded to the Dollar Store in Oran in reference to shoplifting.

"Prior to the deputy arriving, the business advised that the suspects had departed and were traveling toward Chaffee on State Highway 77 in a blue Ford Ranger pickup with Missouri registration," Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter stated in a news release. "Deputy Scroggins located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop."
