During the week of Thanksgiving, Hearnes Elementary students in Kim Wells' kindergarten class participated in their room's "Parent Involvement Turkey Camouflage Contest," which was a classic turkey-in-disguise art project with an added parent involvement element. After reading a Thanksgiving story in class, students were challenged to take a turkey drawing home and with help from their parents, create a disguise to save the turkey from being served for dinner. Each child that participated received a prize, and the top three clever designs will receive gift bags.
