PREP ROUNDUP: Risco still searching for win, Dobbins sets point record

RISCO -- Still searching for that elusive first win, the Risco Tigers lost a close battle with visiting Clarkton on Tuesday, 51-45.

Only trailing by a point, 17-16, after the first quarter, the Tigers (0-10) were outscored 14-4 in the second quarter to fall back by 11 points at halftime. Risco out-paced the Reindeer 16-6 in the third quarter to close back within a point entering the fourth, but were outscored 14-9 in the final frame.

Leading the Tigers' effort was Luke Simmons and Cody Young with 14 points each. Simmons had all three of his team's 3-pointers in the contest. Ethan Young added seven points to Risco's cause.

For Clarkton, Quan Elliot and Trey Moore had 13 and 12 points respectively.

Risco will hit the road to play Senath-Hornersville Friday at 6 p.m.

DEXTER -- The Dexter Bearcats fought back from a 12-point deficit to take down visiting Bloomfield 56-46.

Ethan Flowers led all scorers with 19 points while Jason Jarrell added 17. Jacob Pedigo scored 13 for Dexter, who improved to 3-9 on the year.

Bloomfield (8-5) was led by Peyton Bell's 10 points. Noah Vandiver had eight.

MALDEN -- Two players combined for 123 points during Senath-Hornersville's 109-104 overtime win over Malden Tuesday.

Malden senior Cortez Dobbins scored a school record 67 points while Senath's Victor Dukes poured in 56 points and had 26 rebounds.

Trevor Ison added 22 points for the Green Wave and Kyle Moore chipped in 29 for Senath.

CAPE GIRARDEAU -- In it's first ever meeting against Eagle Ridge, Kelly had three players score in double figures leading to a 70-51 win on the road Tuesday.

Ty Householder led the Hawks (4-9) with 16 points. Jacob McClain added 13 and Maurice Davis scored 11.

For Eagle Ridge, who won the Missouri Christian School Athletic Association Class 1 state championship a season ago, Lane Henson paced all scorers with 21. Josh King chipped in 20.

Dawson Mayo netted 16 points and Preston Wuebker tossed in 15 points for Advance (7-6). Brian Whitson added 13 points and Austin Ladd had 12 points.

Gage McMullin had 10 points for Chaffee (0-12).
