Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center purchases new beds
Technology today continues to improve the quality of life and care of individuals, especially in the health care industry, and as part of their efforts to continuously improve effective, safe and convenient care, the staff and physicians at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center announced the latest purchase of patient beds specifically designed to fit the needs of the Obstetric Care (OB), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Medical/Surgical departments.
"Our new beds in the OB department are designed to provide a better birthing experience for our patients," said Dr. Nelson Perez, OB physician and Chief of Staff at TRRMC. OB Department director, Malisa White, also pointed out the many comfort features the new beds have to offer the patient during each stage of the labor and delivery process.
According to Diane McClain, Director for Marketing, patients in the Intensive Care Unit will have beds with improved technology features that assist the physicians and nursing staff in the delivery of the patient's care.
"The ICU beds have features that improve outcomes with added comfort for the patient," said Dr. Dave Jain, an internist in Kennett.
"The beds are equipped with a touch screen interface to provide staff with important patient metrics that are needed for the care of each of our patients," said ICU Nurse Manager, Lisa Cunningham.
Additionally, Medical/Surgical Nursing Manager, Danyel Williams, along with Pediatrician, Dr. Andrew Beach expressed appreciation for the new beds, citing increased comfort for the patient and ease of use for the nursing staff.
With the addition of new surgery equipment, a new MRI, new patient beds, and several other improvements, McClain said that TRRMC had invested over a million dollars in equipment and service in 2014.
