One nuisance trailer removed; second nuisance and road block remain
CHARLESTON -- Mississippi County has one fewer trailer with a citizen complaint to worry about.
Carlin Bennett, presiding county commissioner, presented the County Commission with the weekly report from Ken Stevenson, county code enforcement officer, during the Commission's regular meeting Thursday after explaining Stevenson could not attend the meeting.
One of two trailers located near Bertrand with complaints alleging violations of the county nuisance ordinance has been removed, according to the report.
Someone had "stripped the metal and burned down" the trailer recently, according to Bennett. "It's completely down and it's gone."
In Bertrand, that makes "one down, one to go," Bennett said -- and maybe soon on the second one going.
