Sunday fire at Kewanee

Fire personnel from New Madrid and Matthews responded to a fire at a residence on Route W, just east of Kewanee Sunday afternoon. According to a fireman at the scene, the blaze was the results of sparks from nearby burning trash, which caught a building behind the residence on fire. Fire crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to nearby structures.
