Scott County man arrested on drug charges

BENTON -- A Scott County man is in custody on drug charges.

Travis Johnson, 19, of Bell City is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and the misdemeanor of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter said on Wednesday Sgt. Justin Wooten and Deputy Chelsea Gilmer conducted an investigation after receiving information about illegal narcotics activity at a residence near Vanduser.

The deputies went the residence and spoke with Johnson and another resident. The deputies received permission to search the residence from both.
