Missouri Read In Day March 13

March 13th is designated as Missouri Read In Day.

In honor of Read In Day, Portageville Elementary will have an author, Carolyn Mueller, visit. She is the author of "Bubbles, the Dwarf Zebu", "Lily, a True Story of courage and the Joplin Tornado", and "Happy Birthday, St. Louis!".

If you would like an autographed copy, please contact the elementary library.

Students will also preview the in-school scholastic book fair which will open March 16 and close March 20. Students will be in school half a day on March 16 with parent teacher conferences following. The book fair will be open on the following day at the following times:

March 16- 7:30 am to 6:30 pm;

March 17, 18, 19 and 20- 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.

A grand event is scheduled for March 17, 18 and 19 to encourage reading. Grandparents are invited to schedule a time to read to their grandchild's classroom. After reading, go and shop at the book fair to encourage your grandchild's love for reading.
