This year, voters simply couldn't pick one top player from the Bootheel Conference. In a testament to the vast amount of talent on display in area, Hayti's Indaqual Presberry and Malden's Cortez Dobbins were handed Co-Player of the Year awards.
Senath-Hornersville's Kyle Moore and Victor Dukes weren't very far behind, as they joined Tyron Austin and many more on the varsity All-Conference Team.
The Coach of the Year award went to Hayti's Dustin Ferguson. It's the latest on a list of accolades in Ferguson's young career. In his first year as a head coach, he led Clarkton, his alma mater, to a district title.
This year, his Hayti Indians team finished with an 18-5 record after battling through to a Bootheel Conference Championship. In the final, the Indians topped a strong team from Malden, but the Green Wave got their revenge in the district tournament.
