Scott County Central's Jeffery Porter was named the Scott-Mississippi Conference Player of the Year after his junior campaign.
Porter averaged 20.9 points to help lead the Braves to a Class 2 state championship last Saturday following a 53-48 win over Mid-Buchanan at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.
His coach, third-year man Frank Staple, was named the conference Coach of the Year. Staple won his second straight championship with the Braves and upped his career coaching record to 69-23.
The girls conference Player of the Year is Charleston's Sierra Frazier. Frazier, a 5-0, all-state guard, led the Bluejays to a 17-7 record and a Scott-Mississippi Conference tournament championship in January. Charleston lost to Arcadia Valley during the Class 3, District 2 semifinals.
The girls Coach of the Year is Chaffee's Darrin Pruitt.
Pruitt led Chaffee to a 22-6 record and its first district title since 1978. They lost to Neelyville in the Class 2 sectional.
