NEW MADRID - The New Madrid City Council will begin the process of looking for a new city administrator.
Chad Eggen, who first served as assistant city administrator then as administrator, has accepted a job as executive director for the Boonslick Regional Planning Commission. Based in Warrenton, the Commission works with local governments and groups to promote development.
Eggen, who tendered his resignation at the March 24 council meeting, was employed by the city since November 2012. He will begin his new duties on April 16, according to a news release issued by the Boonslick RPC's executive board.
In announcing Eggen's hiring, Commission Chairman Murray Bruer noted Eggen's experience as city administrator and his prior experience with Mid-Missouri Regional Planning Commission in Ashland. He stated he is pleased the executive board found such a qualified new director for the organization.
"I have spoken with Chad and I feel he has the potential to further the growth of Boonslick RPC," said Bruer. "We are looking forward to his joining our organization."
