Phyllis June Engelhardt was born on July 18, 1941 in Deering, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl Dodson and Margaret Williams. She passed away on March 23, 2015 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital.
Phyllis attended Caruthersville High School. She was married to Donald W. Engelhardt, Sr., and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on February 26, 2015.
Phyllis had many different occupations during her life. She was a chef, nurse, child care provider, chauffeur and maid, but all of these items fell under her title as "Mom" and "Wife". Many know Phyllis as the face of D&P Family Restaurant, in which she and Don owned and operated after her "Mom" duties slowed down.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Donald W. Engelhardt, Sr. of Caruthersville; one sister, Carolyn Hale of Portageville; three children, Tameria (Travis) Harris of Portageville, Don (Carrie) Engelhardt of Caruthersville, and Renee Engelhardt Smith, also of Caruthersville; five grandchildren, Dominique Harris, Matthew Engelhardt, Travis J. Harris, Jr., Pressli Hanna and Jack Engelhardt; and a host of family and friends.
HS Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville was in charge of the arrangements.
