SIKESTON -- The Sikeston R-6 Board of Education reorganized and welcomed two members Tuesday during the monthly meeting at the district office.

The Board accepted the certified votes for the April 7 general election, which were as follows: Heather Drury, 1,563; Matt Tanner, 1,543; Chris Hodgkiss, 1,439; and Jay Elliott, 1,160.

Superintendent Tom Williams recognized retiring board members Hodgkiss and David Jones, who didn't seek re-election, for their service on the board from 2012-2015 and gave each a set of personalized glass book ends.

"On behalf of the Sikeston R-6 School District, the administration, the teachers and the staff, I'd like to thank both of you for the three years of dedicated service you have given to this district," Williams told Hodgkiss and Jones.
