SIKESTON -- A year after graduating from Scott County Central, former guard Cameron Blissett has signed with Missouri Valley College in Marshall to play basketball.

The 2014 Scott Central graduate, who spent the last year at Southeast Missouri State University, was part of SCC's Class 1 state championship two seasons ago. The Braves finished 26-5 and defeated Meadville 69-39 in the state championship game.

"Coming out of high school I always wanted to go somewhere to play basketball." Blissett said. "I've been at SEMO and I've just been working on my game to get better and decided that I wanted to play basketball somewhere."

After a few tryouts at different colleges Blissett started receiving offers, but following a workout with Missouri Valley, a NAIA Division I school, Blissett signed on instantly."

"I went to a few colleges to try out and got a few offers. I went up to Missouri Valley and they gave me a scholarship," Blissett said.

The Vikings finished last season 22-11 and was ranked No. 20 in the NAIA Division I Coaches' Postseason Top 25 poll. It's the first ranking in the Division I poll in Missouri Valley's history and its first national ranking since the 2004-05 season.

The Vikings also won its first Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) tournament championship and advanced to the second round of the Buffalo Funds NAIA Division I Men's Basketball National Championship tournament.
