PERRYVILLE -- Despite only fielding eight players the Sikeston Junior Legion rallied back for a 10-8 road win over Perryville Freshman Legion on Sunday.

Perryville broke out for four runs in each of the first two innings to go up 8-2 entering the third.

Holding them at bay the rest of the way, however, Sikeston chipped away at their deficit the rest of the way.

A run in the third was followed by two-run rallies in the fourth and sixth innings to make it 8-7. Three runs in the third allowed Sikeston to overtake Perryville for the first lead of the game and hold on for the win.

Brandon Hurt picked up the win in two innings of relief where he struck out five. He also went 3 for 5 with four runs scored and an RBI.

Sebastion Matos went 3 for 5 with three RBI and Drace Lawrence collected two hits and three stolen bases.

Now at 12-12 Sikeston will play Charleston's Junior Babe Ruth team tonight at 6 p.m.
