SIKESTON -- The Frye family makes a return to the stage in the Sikeston Little Theatre's first-ever production of a sequel.

Performances of the romantic comedy "Southern Fried Nuptials" are set for 7 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday at the Sikeston Little Theatre located at 506 S. Kingshighway.

"Last summer's production of 'Southern Fried Funeral' was well received by the community," said Jeremiah Dunmyer, who also directed the show. "There was a lot of push from community to do another production, and this is a result of that."

Because this is the first time the Theatre is presenting a sequel, Dunmyer, the cast and crew are doing their best to keep continuity clean and clear, he said.

"We've been in contact with the writers of the show and make sure we have an understanding of the plot," Dunmyer said.
