Go ahead, make my day

Surely you're not as stupid as conservative/regressives are by thinking, even for a moment, that all you gun-toting, knuckle-draggers would turn in your guns. We'd just like to see it much harder for you fanatics to get more guns, at least without some background checks regarding your sanity! I must presume that you fear you couldn't pass such mental stability tests or you wouldn't be so frightened by the prospect. Why do you have so little faith in your local police, state government and federal forces that you think you must keep a gun in your home? Is crime really that prevalent where you live? Do you really think your children won't get their innocent hands on your gun-phallus, even though it's locked away in your bedside drawer? And do you really think that if you encounter an invader (Commie, atheist, Muslim, tree-hugger, liberal, climate-change believer, or other realist, eg.) in your home, you'll be able to get your key in time to unlock the drawer, load the gun, unlock the trigger, etc., quietly enough to fool the intruder, to make any difference except to get yourself shot in the process? Don't you think the intruder is far more likely to commit murder if faced with a red-neck gun-toting conservative, than someone who simply says "Take it. It's not worth anyone getting killed for it!" Then, when it's all over and nobody's dead, call the police and see that your tax dollars are well spent tracking down the thief. Or, of course, you can just be the cause of death, huh? Has it ever occurred to you that you may be the supplier of the gun that kills your neighbor when it is stolen from your nightstand drawer while you're away on vacation? Hell, why should that intruder buy the damned gun at a gun show (thanks to your views) if he/she can just steal if from you?

Pitch the tent

I have called several times. I went over to Sixth Street last night. The people are living in tents behind the house. They are using the bathroom out in the yard. I've called the city several times. The house needs to be torn down and the renters out in the tent need to leave.

David scores again

David Jenkins commentary "For every action, an overreaction" in Wednesday's paper was great. He hit the nail on the head. Nobody could have said it as good as he did. He did a wonderful job of saying what the Bible says. I'm glad he put that in there.

A clean sweep

Look, the people in public housing, they pay rent just like anyone else. It may be on a different level, but should they not be taken care of when it comes to the street and the road? The curbs are so contaminated that it's unsafe for the children to play out on the sidewalk or close to the street. City of Sikeston, please treat the people in public housing with respect and clean their sidewalk, curbs and the street. All they ask is to be treated with respect like you like to be treated with respect. Please clean our streets with the street cleaner.
