SIKESTON -- For years Feeders Supply in Sikeston has been in the business of pets and pet supplies and has now added dog grooming.

"It's a good fit for the entire business," said Jim Gooch, owner of Feeder's Supply, located at 104 Linn St. "We saw a big need for another groomer in this area, not only for Sikeston but the surrounding area. There were a lot of people coming through our door that were asking for someone to groom their dog."

With the need for a dog groomer, Gooch said his business was fortunate to find an experienced groomer in Sandy Acup.

"She had extensive experience in grooming and had enjoyed a very good reputation previously with her customers," Gooch said.

Acup graduated from Petropolis Academy of Dog Training and Pet Grooming in Chesterfield and has 10 years of grooming experience.

Acup offers full-service grooming for any size dog that includes a bath, nails and flea treatment to go along with the grooming.

"One of the things we pride ourselves in is the cleanliness of our facility," Gooch said. "We take pride in taking care of all the dogs that come through the doors and make sure they get the very best service possible."

Appointments need to be made and grooming hours are from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and two Saturdays a month from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. However for those who go to work earlier than 8 a.m., dogs can be dropped off between 7 and 8 a.m. and can be picked up in the afternoon if needed.

"Since we added the grooming we have seen it has become a vital part of our business," Gooch said. "Our customers seem to be very satisfied."
