Without leadership country is declining

Wednesday, July 29, 2015

A gentleman approached me in a grocery store this week and asked if I could confirm a rumor he heard about the President.

In hushed tones, he said the President was poised to ignore the Constitution and seek a third term. And should the populace resist that controversial move, the rumor opined that the President would impose marshal law to quell any discontent.

For starters, I told the gentleman that his rumor was poppycock - though my wording was somewhat different.

But truthfully, I'm less than certain I convinced him that his dire prediction was pure fantasy. Actually, during the past few years we've probably all heard similar tales of federal takeovers of just about everything under the sun.

But despite his warmed-over conspiracy theories, such outlandish rumors only erupt in turbulent times.

You need not look beyond the past week to see how upside down our world has become.

An investigative team uncovers a macabre Planned Parenthood practice of harvesting and selling aborted infant organs and the Democrats launch an investigation. But they are not investigating Planned Parenthood but rather the reporting team that uncovered the story.

Distant Democratic hopeful Martin O'Malley made the gross mistake of telling a black audience that not only black lives but all lives mattered. He was virtually run off the stage and later apologized for saying all lives matter.

The LGTB flag was hoisted over the Reno, Nev., city hall this week in lieu of the American flag. Only when Christians complained did the city "admit" their mistake and raise the American flag to fly beside the LGTB symbol.

And finally, a black activist being courted by the Clinton campaign lied about the death of Sandra Bland in a Texas jail cell despite massive evidence that her death was a suicide. This is the same activist behind the now-debunked "Hands Up, Don't Shoot" false narrative. And Clinton is desperate to have him join her team.

These four unrelated incidents in themselves might make you scratch your head in disbelief.

But combined, day after day, week after week, they form a pattern.

And the pattern itself is troubling.

Political correctness and an out of control national leftist media combine to unravel the fabric of this great nation.

Rarely does a day go by that the headlines don't provide yet another example of a disjointed, disengaged country wandering aimlessly downward absent leadership at any level.

Back in 2009, Rush Limbaugh - you've probably heard of him - said he hoped the Obama administration failed. He was widely condemned as a racist when in fact, his comment had nothing to do with race.

Limbaugh saw long before most the path that this administration would take this nation.

Fast forward to the present and you see that Limbaugh's concerns have become reality.

In the end, history will surely record this administration as a massive, unprecedented failure.

But the question now has little to do with success or failure. It has to do with the future of America and whether or not the Republic can survive the hole that is Obama.
