EAST PRAIRIE-- A Mississippi County man faces sexual misconduct charges for intentionally exposing himself to his neighbors.

According to Mississippi County Sheriff Keith Moore, the investigation began Wednesday evening when Deputy Marc Tragesser received an indecent exposure complaint from a resident in the Eagles Landing subdivision.

During the course of the investigation, Tragesser interviewed several witnesses and gathered electronic evidence which contributed to the development of probable cause to believe that 80-year-old Maurice Woodrow Debaun of East Prairie had intentionally exposed himself to several neighbors, including a 5-year-old girl.

At that time, Debaun was taken into custody and transported to the Mississippi County Detention Center.

Debaun is charged with sexual misconduct involving a child less than 15 years of age, a class D felony punishable upon conviction by up to four years imprisonment.

Debaun also faces two counts of sexual misconduct first degree, both class B misdemeanors punishable upon conviction by up to six months in the county jail.

As of press time, Debaun remains in the Mississippi County Detention Center with bond set at $15,000 cash only.
