SIKESTON - Two Michigan men wanted on federal indictments for distributing heroin were arrested by Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers.

Justin Jenkins, 27, and Henry Hall, 23, of Benton Harbor, Mich., were arrested for their federal indictments out of the western district of Benton Harbor. Both were indicted for possession of heroin with intent to distribute and conspiracy to distribute heroin.

The arrests were made after the Drug Enforcement Administration contacted DPS on Thursday with information Jenkins and Hall were at a home in the 900 block of Davis Street in Sikeston and requested assistance in apprehending them.

According to Capt. Jim McMillen, public information officer with DPS, around 5:15 p.m. several DPS officers and DEA agents went to the home.

As the officers were surrounding the home a man ran out of the back door toward Hawthorne Street. Officers pursued him over fences and through the back yards as he ran through the residential neighborhood of Hawthorn and Allen. He was captured by officers behind 907 Allen Blvd.

Police then focused their efforts on the second man who had run south from the Davis Street residence. Officers had initially followed him into the area between the 700 block of Davis and the 700 block of Allen. Although officers spent over two hours searching for the man they were unable to locate him.
