Cultural changes are harming our nation

Sunday, September 6, 2015

President Obama's legacy health care program, Obamacare, has been a controversial and polarizing issue since the shocking Supreme Court decision that handed the plan into the laps of the American public.

The promised $2,500 average annual health care premium savings has completely vanished and instead virtually all health coverage plans have increased in cost.

The promise of keeping your doctor evaporated almost from the very beginning.

More Americans now have health coverage only because taxpayers are picking up that expensive tab.

And only as time goes by do we learn of the restrictions especially on elderly care. The prospect of "death panels" to parcel out coverage for the elderly remains in the background.

But on Thursday, the Department of Health and Human Services issued new proposals that will at long last offer some protections in the national health care plan.

But alas, the new protections cover only the transgender population.

That's right. The highly-touted Affordable Care Act has now put teeth into the massive bureaucratic program by assuring that transgenders get the medical gender reassignment care paid for by the insurance providers.

By following the money, it's easy to see that we taxpayers are now on the hook for a host of new procedures to address the concerns of the transgender community.

I doubt there is anyone in this great nation - perhaps with the exception of Barack Obama - who could have envisioned these changes in American life just a very few short years ago.

This transformation of America has come in such massive waves that it becomes virtually impossible to muster opposition to one overhaul when another foundational change comes along.

Cultural changes have been imposed on this nation at a pace unparalleled in our history by a massively wide margin.

The national media gives voice only to those changes they support and the voices of the majority are lost in the silence that is killing this country.

This President is a master of diversion. He employs disruptive change in one area to divert our attention from a potentially disastrous change in another.

So while working Americans are reaching into their pockets to pay for "improved" health coverage just remember that those "improvements" provide premium service to the transgender community at your expense.

America is in the middle of a nightmare that clearly threatens the future of this once-great nation.

We need to learn a lesson from those who seek to change the face of America. And that lesson involves raising our voices in loud response and removing from office those elected officials who support this decline.

A fish rots from the head. And so does a nation.
