PREP ROUNDUP: Sikeston soccer drops final regular season game to Poplar Bluff

SIKESTON -- Poplar Bluff scored quickly and Sikeston never recovered Monday during a 2-1 loss at home to close out the regular season.

Sikeston ends its regular season with a 9-15-1 record after winning four of its last five games.

Kameron Misner scored both of Poplar Bluff's goals within the first five minutes forcing Sikeston to play from behind. Sam Cox scored his 19th goal of the season in the 26th minute to make it a 2-1 game at halftime. Sikeston's Lee Stout was in on the assist.

Sikeston enters the four-team Class 3, District 1 tournament as the third seed and will once again play Poplar Bluff (12-9) during the first round Oct. 27 at 7 p.m., in Poplar Bluff.
