BENTON -- The Scott County Sheriff's Office received several reports Tuesday regarding a person attempting to get money from people over the phone.

According to an advisory issued by the sheriff's department, the suspect calls people and tells them there is an active warrant for their arrest.

In two incidents, the person posed as a Scott County deputy. In another incident, the suspect identified himself as Donovan Black, badge number 8739. The suspect attempts to get money via Pay Pal in order to take care of the warrant.
Incidents of this nature have been reported in both Scott and Cape Counties, according to the sheriff's department.

The suspect is not affiliated with a law enforcement agency, the sheriff's department said.

Anyone receiving a call of this nature should immediately report it to their local law enforcement.
