Government spendthrifts

I'm happy for you since you work at the age of 72. How you feel about people that can come back on you cause there are children are born with birth defects. I've seen children with no parents, they don't draw Social Security. The only reason Social Security is going broke is because of all of our Congress, all of our government. You should know when you go out to vote, if you have any sense at all, who spends our money.

Help them help us

The sales tax plan coming for a vote in November has my support. I don't use the parks that much but the streets here in Sikeston could use some extra funds that's for sure. But the main reason is Public Safety. I don't want Sikeston known for crime and the only way to stop that is to make sure the police are up to the job. That takes training and equipment, but it takes money to compete with Cape when it comes to salaries. If I had my way, the city people would put all of that money into our police department and firemen too. These guys are what stands between my family and potential crime. And I want the best possible in that area.

A fall to remember

I want to give a big thank you to the River Bend Garden Club for the fantastic fall decorations on Main Street in New Madrid. Thank you for all your time and selfless giving.
