More than 5,000 chickens en route to be processed at a Tyson plant in Dexter, Missouri, were scattered across the median of Highway 25 after the truck hauling the birds reportedly ran a red light on the highway overpass, crashing into a Jeep crossing the intersection. The Jeep's driver, Joshua Moore of Dexter, and the truck driver were taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital. About half the chickens died in the crash; the surviving ones were taken to the processing plant.
