The Sikeston soccer team had six named to the SEMO All-Conference team and five selected to the Class 3, District 1 all-district team after a 9-15-1 season.
Junior Sam Cox and sophomore Cameron King were named to the all-conference first team. Cox led the Bulldogs with 19 goals and added eight assists. King was a big part of a Sikeston defense that forced five shutouts.
Dakota Ray and Connor Meredeth were second team selections. Ray, a senior, was Sikeston's second-leading goal scorer with 13 and led the Bulldogs with nine assists. Meredeth, another senior, added five goals and four assists.
Senior Andrew Pearson and junior goalie Max Ault were honorable mention nods. Pearson had one goal and two assists. Ault was credited with five shutouts and 181 saves on the year.
Cox, Ray and King were named to the first team all-district team. Meredith and Pearson were second teamers.
Sikeston losses seven seniors: Meredeth, Ray, Pearson, Tyler Hawkins, Nick Shelton, Kenya Marshall and Brody Stone.
"They will all be greatly missed," Sikeston coach Gabe Dement said. "Connor held things together in the middle and read the game better than most high school players, Dakota was second in points on the team and made a lot of clutch plays, Andrew Pearson was a steady center defender tasked with helping slow down the better offensive threats on opposing teams.
"Tyler Hawkins, Nick Shelton, and Kenya Marshall were all guys who didn't have a lot of experience going into high school soccer and worked hard to earn varsity time and be important players for us this season.
