CHARLESTON -- It's looking a lot like Christmas in Charleston.

The Mississippi County Historical Society's Annual Open House and Bake Sale will be Dec. 4 at the Society's Moore Home, 403 North Main.

"We hold it in conjunction with the Charleston Chamber of Commerce's Christmas Parade each year," said Sophie Dugan, president of the Historical Society. "Our event will start immediately following the parade at approximately 6:30 p.m."

Dugan said the Mississippi County Historical Society also likes to join in on the Chamber's theme.

"The theme for the festivities this year is 'Santa's Workshop,'" she said. "The home is once again beautifully decorated -- we did quite a bit on the front porch this year. We've got two beautiful handcrafted snowmen at the front door."

"A lot if people are involved in decorating," said Hunter Ely, treasurer for the Society.

"We just want everybody to enjoy the beauty of the house and ring in the new season with us," Dugan said. "And we will, of course, have the holiday bake sale -- that is becoming bigger and bigger every year."
