CHARLESTON -- Three players scored in double figures as Charleston rolled to a win over visiting Scott City.

Cheyenne Randle scored a game-high 19 points while Connor Watkins added 17 and Sharell Woods scored 15 for Charleston (2-1)

Scott City (1-3) was led by Katie Smith's eight points.

Jamie Hodge scored 15 points as the host Bobcats picked up their first win of the season in the conference victory over the Eagles.

The Bobcats held a narrow one-point lead at halftime and went on to outscore the Eagles by seven points in the second half to clinch the win.

Tamera Crowden added 13 points for Delta (1-2, 1-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference).

Bethany Ferrell netted 15 points and four rebounds while Dakota Arnold tossed in 12 points to pace East Prairie (0-3, 0-3).

Johneisha Daniel and Trinity Thomas combined for 60 points as Scott County Central (3-3) ran through visiting Hayti.

Daniel, a sophomore, led the team with 34 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Trinity Thomas scored 26 and had five steals. Maddison Avance added 11 points, nine steals and six rebounds.

Ivy Winters led Hayti (0-1) with 10 points in its season debut.

POPLAR BLUFF -- The Sikeston eighth grade basketball team improved to 4-0 on the season with a 54-26 win over Poplar Bluff on Thursday at Poplar Bluff Junior High.

Sikeston led 16-7 after one quarter and out-scored the Mules 22-4 in the second quarter to take a 38-11 lead ito halftime.

"We had a great start to the game. Offensively we were very sharp tonight. I was proud of the team the way they came in and took care of business," Sikeston coach Derek James said.

Sikeston was led by Clark Steward's 15 points. Nick Harrison had 14 and Payton Howard had 13.

Sikeston's eighth grade will be back in action on Tuesday when they host Charleston.
