SIKESTON -- A local woman could face charges after allegedly poking and slapping a Sikeston fast food worker in the face.

About 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sikeston Department of Public Safety responded to McDonalds on South Main Street in Sikeston after an employee reported being assaulted by a female customer.

According to DPS reports, a female customer ordered a sandwich, but when she was given a sandwich, she said she ordered a value meal. She asked for a refund, and the worker gave her a refund.

However, the woman went on to allegedly poke and slap the employee in the face. She then pushed him and threw cups. She also allegedly grabbed dishes off the counter and threw them. Another employee was able to push the woman out of the store.

The customer reportedly went to a nearby convenience store, only to return to the restaurant. DPS officers were called and the woman was arrested because she was wanted on a New Madrid County warrant for operating a vehicle without a driver's license. Formal charges of assault are pending.
