SIKESTON -- Missouri Delta Medical Center has made the honor roll again.

"For the second year in a row we have been named as a Top Performer on Key Quality Measures by The Joint Commission," said Sharon Urhahn, MDMC's director of marketing.

"We understand what matters most to patients at Missouri Delta is the quality and safety of the care they receive," said Jason Schrumpf, MDMC's president and CEO. "That is why we have made it a top priority to improve positive patient outcomes through evidence-based care processes. Missouri Delta Medical Center is proud to be named a Top Performer as it recognizes the knowledge, teamwork and dedication of our entire hospital staff."

The Joint Commission "is the gold standard for hospital accreditation," Schrumpf said. "It's what nearly every hospital uses."

Since the program was launched in 2011, Top Performers are recognized by The Joint Commission along with its annual report, "America's Hospitals: Improving Quality and Safety," each fall based on statistics from the previous year.
