Sikeston's roads remained passable during weekend's heavy rains
SIKESTON -- Sikeston's Department of Public Works have kept their eyes on the rising waters but haven't had to close any roads yet.
Hundreds of roads have been closed around the state due to flooding during weekend but none in Sikeston so far.
"We have several roads that had water all the way over the road but they were still passable," said Darren Martin, street division supervisor for the Sikeston Department of Public Works.
Public Works put signs up "warning people about water over the road," said Jay Lancaster, public works director for the city of Sikeston, and to advise caution when driving through even passable water.
