Stinnett reaches milestone in Sikeston wrestling team's dual road wins

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- The Sikeston wrestling team picked up two more wins on the road Wednesday at Poplar Bluff.

The Bulldogs defeated Poplar Bluff 42-33 and Carterville, Ill., 73-6.

"We wrestled very well tonight against a very much improved Poplar Bluff team," Sikeston coach Chris Lowe said. "Our kids wrestled aggressively and at a quick pace. We still have room for improvement and the boys are working very hard to improve everyday."

Josh Stinnett, a junior, claimed his 100th and 101st career win as well. Stinnett, who's lost just three matches this season, defeated a fellow state qualifier in Poplar Bluff's Steven Haley by a 3-1 decision.

Sikeston (23-4) will be off until next Wednesday when they travel to Windsor for another quad match.
