CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A dedication ceremony honoring a Caruthersville police officer who died in the line of duty is planned for later this month.

State Rep. Andrew McDaniel and the Caruthersville Police Department will host the ceremony to honor Evan D. Burns, who was killed Aug. 16, 2011, while working as an officer for the Caruthersville Police Department.

Set for 10 a.m. Jan. 22, the ceremony will be held just west of the radio station on Highway 84 in Caruthersville at the memorial site of Burns.
