EAST PRAIRIE -- Freshman Derez Tipler scored a team-high 22 points but it wasn't enough for East Prairie to escape its fifth loss in a row.

The Eagles fell to Bell City 61-55 at home. Bobby Wright poured in 26 for the Cubs, which included five threes.

Bell City (10-5) led by one, 40-39, after three quarters and outscored the Eagles (7-7) 21-16 in the fourth to hold on for the win.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (SMNS) -- The Scott City boys basketball team used steady output to stave off a comeback attempt and defeat Kelly 55-51 in a conference dual under the bright lights at FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday afternoon.

The Hawks had a 21-point fourth quarter to rally, but the Rams nine-point lead after three quarters was too much to overcome.

Trent Pobst led Scott City (8-6, 4-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference) with 15 points while Jordan Kluesner pitched in 14.

Maurice Davis paced Kelly (7-7, 0-2) with 13 points and Kade Proctor added 12.

The Rams won the game at the free-throw line, hitting 21 of 29 from the stripe compared to Kelly's seven total free throws.

Max Priggel tallied 18 points to pace Oran (8-7) while Jacob Shoemaker and Layne Johnson notched 14 points apiece for the Eagles.
