Firefighters work to extinguish a fire at DeWitt Equipment in Miner Tuesday night. The fire broke out just after 10 p.m. and firefighters from Miner and Sikeston helped put out the blaze. No further information was available at press time.

MINER, Mo. -- A business was heavily damaged after catching fire late Tuesday in Miner.

About 10:26 p.m. Sikeston Department of Public Safety's Fire Division responded to DeWitt Equipment on East Malone Avenue in Miner to assist Miner's Fire Division.

Capt. Rick Rapert of Sikeston DPS Fire Division said the fire was contained to the front area of the metal building, and he estimated fire fighters were on scene for three hours.

The cause of the fire remained unknown, and further information was unavailable at press time.
