SIKESTON -- The short answer to the question, "What does code enforcement do?" is: about as much as possible with what they've got.

"Code Enforcement 101" was the subject for the Sikeston City Council's monthly community study session Thursday held at the Sikeston Public Library's new lower level meeting room.

The Code Enforcement Division in Sikeston is "here to serve this community and make it better," said Jay Lancaster, public works director. "It promotes safety and promote quality of life and protects property values."
