Bell City man is facing drug charges

BENTON, MO - A Bell City man was arrested after he was found with drugs and a syringe.

Stephen M. Kindle, 45, is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance which field tested positive to be methamphetamine and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, a deputy attempted to make contact with Kindle, who was walking in a freshly planted farm field outside the Oran City limits Thursday afternoon.

"Kindle refused to comply with the deputy's requests, acting as if he were going to flee and continuously reaching toward his waistband," Walter said in a news release. "After a short physical confrontation with the suspect the deputy was able to maintain control of him."
