"We feel, with our entertainment lineup, all four nights of our rodeo will bring out all ages," said Craig Templeton, Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo entertainment chairman.

Templeton pointed out this year's lineup should appeal to younger country music fans as well as those who listen to classic country.

"With Chase Rice, he is what I call someone that the younger generation will come out to see," Templeton said. "He is very hot on the radio right now with multiple singles. He should be a great push for a good opening night."

Rice is known for his raucous, high energy concerts.

Florida-born, North Carolina-raised, Rice said he always had a knack when growing up for recognizing what makes a quality song. But it was journaling in high school, a practice he's maintained even as his touring life got crazy and hectic, that helped him evolve into an artist and song writer.
