SIKESTON -- Brennan Miller pitched a two-hit shutout as the Chaffee Red Devils ran over Scott County Central 15-0 in five innings Tuesday during a Scott-Mississippi Conference contest.
Miller threw 80 pitches, struck out five and walked three.
Chaffee (7-2, 2-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference) pounded out 15 hits and Austin Copeland led that attack. Copeland finished the day with two doubles and six RBI behind a 4 for 4 performance at the dish. Alec Bogenpohl added three hits and three RBI while Landon Tenkhoff and A.J. Owens each chipped in a double and triple.
Jeffery Porter was the losing pitcher for SCC (2-1, 0-1) after four innings. Porter gave up seven runs (six earned) on 11 hits in his first career start. He also struck out three and walked one.
Porter and Gavin Pobst had Scott County Central's only two hits.

Gates went 3 for 4 with two doubles and Ian Torrey added two more doubles as Portageville (5-4) piled up eight hits. Jon Garrett Kellams had three RBI and Connor Barham added two RBI.
Daugherty allowed one earned run on one hit while walking six and striking out two. Barham pitched two innings of relief giving up no hits and walking one.

PERRYVILLE, Mo. (SMNS) -- Mitchell Proctor hit a double and drove in one run as the Hawks rallied in the final inning to nip the Indians by one run in the win on the road.
Levi Alsup pitched 4 2/3 innings to get the win for Kelly (3-7). He gave up one unearned run on three hits, struck out three and walked one. Nathan Vicenzi added a double and got the save for Alsup, throwing the final 2 1/3 innings and allowing five earned runs on four hits with three strikeouts and six walks.
Noah Niswonger took the loss on the mound in relief. He pitched one inning and gave up one unearned run on one hit with two strikeouts and no walks. Jordan Buchheit pitched the first six innings in which he allowed six runs (three earned) on four hits with three strikeouts and five walks for St. Vincent (5-2).

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- The Bluejays had just two hits but capitalized on six errors to escape East Prairie in a conference battle on the road.
Charleston led 4-1 after the top of the seventh but the Eagles made a charge with two runs in the bottom half until eventually bowing out.
East Prairie (4-3, 0-2 Scott-Mississippi Conference) out-hit Charleston 6-2.
Luke Marcum had went 2 for 3 for the Eagles.
Dylan Baugh and Braxton Houseman had Charleston's two singles. Baugh finished with one RBI while Lee Thomas Moody added two more.
Blake Simmons earned the win on the mound for Charleston (8-4, 2-0) after seven innings. He allowed three earned runs on six hits and four walks. He also struck out five.
Steven Christian was charged with the loss after five innings. He gave up three runs (one earned) on two hits and five walks while striking out five.

Grace Sutton was the winning pitcher for East Prairie (3-0, 1-0 Scott-Mississippi Conference) despite giving up 18 hits and 10 earned runs. Sutton also struck out six and walked two.
