NEW MADRID, Mo. -- There will be some new individuals representing voters in office following Tuesday's election.
However, during the election, New Madrid County Clerk Clement Cravens was dealing with complaints about election judges. Complaints from Howardville voters prompted a change in election judges during the day, Cravens said.
"After discussions with one of the judges at the polling place, who was not part of the complaints, I made the decision to go to the polling place and do personal interviews with the judges who had the complaints made against them and also replace them - not because of guilt but basically until the investigation is completed. That is normally the protocol," Cravens said.
Cravens emphasized the removed election judges' actions did not impact the voting.
He said his investigation into the complaints will probably be completed sometime next week.
