One seriously injured in Friday accident

SIKESTON -- A Jackson man was seriously injured Friday afternoon in a three-vehicle accident on Highway 60.

The accident occured at just before 1 p.m. at US 60 at Route FF, two miles west of Sikeston when Jason Evans, 36, of Jackson, failed to yield and was hit by a semi-truck, driven by Ryan Kerly, 46, of Desota, Ill. A third vehicle, driven by Sharon Chase, 69, of Avon Lake, Ohio, sustained minor damage from debris in the roadway.

Evans was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau with serious injuries. No one else was injured in the accident.
