SIKESTON -- A Tennessee man is in custody after burglary of a local pharmacy in mid-June.

According to a release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety, officers responded to a burglary at Randy's Rx, located at 1012 N. Main St., at 5:11 p.m. on June 18.

Several types of narcotics and pain medications were stolen and evidence collected at the scene was sent to the crime lab.

The evidence was analyzed and investigators were able to link the evidence to a pharmacy burglary in Cape Girardeau in April. The evidence connected Marlon Deshone Quarles of Memphis, Tenn., to both burglaries.

On July 19, a Scott County Grand Jury indicted Quarles for first degree burglary, stealing controlled substances and property damage. A cash only bond was set at $125,000.

Monday, investigators from Sikeston DPS and the FBI travelled to Memphis and took Quarles into custody where he was transported to the Shelby County Detention Center where he is currently waiting extradition to Missouri. Investigators are continuing their efforts to see if they can link Quarles to any other pharmacy burglaries in the area and recover any of the missing narcotics.
