SD ROUNDUP: Sikeston tennis gets swept, Oran baseball edges Bloomfield

FARMINGTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston tennis team was swept by Farmington on the road Wednesday.

The Bulldogs drop to 0-5 and will host the Sikeston Invitational tournament today which includes Charleston, Kennett and Notre Dame. Farmington improved to 3-1.

FALL BASEBALL

Oran 2, Bloomfield 1

ORAN, Mo. -- The Eagles erased a one-run deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to secure the win over the Wildcats at home.

Layne Johnson was credited with the win for Oran (3-0). He threw two scoreless innings of relief, allowing no hits six strikeouts and no walks. Drew Reischman got the start for the Eagles but was lifted after five innings of work. He struck out seven batters and walked two, allowing one unearned run on four hits.

Reischman had a pair of hits, including a double, to lead Oran at the plate, while Cole Priggel contributed a pair of singles.

Tim Hector took the loss for Bloomfield (4-3), giving up two runs -- one earned -- and scattering five hits in six innings of work. He finished with seven strikeouts and no walks.

Alex Gibbs paced the Wildcats' offense with a pair of singles.
