ANNA, Ill. -- The Sikeston soccer team fell to 6-8 on the season after its road loss to Anna-Jonesboro, Ill., Thursday.

Jose Guzman scored the game-winning goal in the second half on an assist from Jovanni Amesquita to get the win for Anna-Jonesboro (8-6).

Sikeston will take part in the Kickapoo Chiefs Shootout in Springfield, Mo., with their first round game starting today against Carthage at 7 p.m.

__Dexter 25 25, Winona 21 12__

WINONA, Mo. -- The 90-mile bus ride to Shannon County did not slow the Bearcats' momentum down as the visitors extended their winning streak to 10 games with the sweep of the Class 1 powerhouse Wildcats in straight sets.

Dexter improved its record to 14-4-2 while Winona dropped to 12-8.

The Bearcats finish conference play on Monday when they will host Puxico (5-9-2, 1-5). A win over the Indians would give Dexter its fourth consecutive conference volleyball championship. The Bearcats have not lost to a team in their conference in regular season or tournament play since October 11, 2012 when they fell to Bernie in the semifinals of the SCAA Conference Tournament at Bell City.

__Cape Central 25 25, New Madrid County Central 23 12__

NEW MADRID, Mo. -- Francesca Pisano recorded 10 digs and six digs as the Tigers struggled to find their footing in the first set but came away with the conference victory over the Eagles.

Amanda Mabry added three kills for Cape Central (4-11-1, 2-2 SEMO Conference). Hannah Trautman dished out 15 assists and Cassidy Gowan notched 14 digs for the Tigers.

New Madrid County Central dropped to 11-9-2 overall and fell to 1-2 in the conference. The Eagles travel to Kennett on Tuesday.

__Risco 25 25, Oran 16 18__

ORAN, Mo. -- The Eagles were swept in straight sets by the visiting Tigers to suffer their third consecutive loss this week.

Oran fell to 4-9-1 while Risco improved to 13-2-1.

The Eagles visit Bloomfield on Monday while the Tigers host Holcomb tonight.

__Bloomfield 22 25 25, Woodland 25 19 19__

BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- The Wildcats pounced back after dropping a close first set to the Cardinals to extend their winning streak to five games with the three-set conference victory.

Bloomfield strengthened its overall record to 12-3-1 and improved to 3-1 in the SCAA Conference.

Krista Rhodes recorded a double-double with 18 kills and 11 digs to pace Woodland (11-7-3, 1-3) while Emma Rinacke tallied 18 assists, five digs and three kills. Madison Cover finished with 10 assists and 10 digs for the Cardinals.

The Wildcats host Oran on Monday.

__Kelly 9, Sikeston 0__

BENTON, Mo. -- Alyssa Moore and Marissa Worth drove in two runs apiece as the Hawks flew high and blanked the Bulldogs.

Alyssa Tidwell was the winning pitcher and also tripled to lead Kelly (14-1). She had four strikeouts and no walks.

Abby Cooper went the distance to take the loss in the circle for Sikeston (9-6). She allowed eight earned runs and had one strikeout and one walk.

Sikeston will be participating in the Potosi Tournament over the weekend. The four-team tournament, which was originally scheduled for Sept. 10 but was postponed due to rainy weather, begins today. The Bulldogs will face Jefferson (Festus) and Salem today and then will face the host Trojans on Saturday.

Kelly will be playing in the Chaffee Lady Red Devils Tournament on Saturday. The six-team field includes the hosts, Cape Central, Jackson, Naylor and Notre Dame. The Hawks open play at 9:30 a.m. against the Tigers. View a complete tournament schedule below.

DEXTER, Mo. -- The Bearcats only dropped two singles matches to wrap up their regular season with a win over the Indians.

Jackson ended its regular season at 6-6 while Dexter finished at 7-4.

The Bearcats open Class 1 District 1 Team Tournament play on Monday at 4 p.m. Dexter, seeded third, will host sixth-seeded Charleston (1-8). The winner will advance to face second-seeded Notre Dame on Tuesday.

BERNIE, Mo. -- Josh Ellenburg smacked a home run and drove in three runs as the Mules blanked their conference nemeses for the second time this season.

Blake Beacham was checked with the win on the mound for Bernie (13-4). He threw a one-hitter for two innings, walked one and had no strikeouts.

Gavin Brown also had a home run for the Mules.

Tim Hector lasted five innings to endure the pitching loss for Bloomfield (10-5). He allowed seven earned runs on 10 hits, struck out four and walked three.

Both teams are scheduled to wrap up their regular seasons in the Campbell Fall Showdown Classic, which starts Saturday.
