After pulling off the mild upset last week against St. Vincent, the Portageville Bulldogs couldn't muster a giant upset against the defending champions.

Fifth-seeded Portageville fell 46-7 to top-seeded Valle during the Class 1, District 1 semifinals in Ste. Genevieve, Mo., ending their season at 4-7.

The Warriors (9-1) move on to host No. 2 Hayti, who defeated third-seeded Scott City in another semifinal, next Friday in the district championship game.

Valle wasted little time gaining the advantage in the first quarter.

The Warriors threw for two scores and ran for another to go ahead 18-0 through the first 12 minutes. Four more touchdowns through the air lifted Valle to a commanding 46-0 lead at the half.
