BENTON, Mo. - A Chaffee man is in custody on drug charges after sheriff's deputies searched his residence and a shed.

David A. Turner, 32, is charged with two felony counts of possession of a controlled substance and the misdemeanor of possession of a controlled substance.

On Thursday, deputies served a search warrant in Chaffee, where they located Turner in the shed during their search.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, in the shed officers found small plastic bags containing a white powdery substance, which tested positive for methamphetamine, along with paraphernalia used to ingest drugs and weight-controlled substances. A green, leafy substance, which tested positive for marijuana, and a Schedule 4 controlled substance prescription pill were located in the shed also.

Located inside Turner's bedroom was more marijuana and paraphernalia used to store and ingest controlled substances, the sheriff reported.

As of press time, Turner remains in custody at the Scott County Jail. Bond is set by the court at $15,000 cash or surety.
