Schedule released for NMCC's 22nd Riverbend Classic

The 22nd Riverbend Classic basketball shootout is slated for its annual post-Thanksgiving kickoff and now the schedule for the two-day event has been released.

Four local teams are set to take on teams from Illinois, Tennessee and Arkansas on Nov. 25-26 at New Madrid County Central High School.

Friday's slate will begin at 2 p.m., when one of the newest members of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, the Scott County Central Braves, take on Liberty Tech, Tenn., followed by the host Eagles squaring off with West Memphis, Ark., at 3:30 p.m. Kennett, with newly inducted Missouri Sports Hall of Fame coach Lennies McFerron at the helm, will face Cairo, Ill., at 5 p.m. The Charleston Bluejays will round out the first day by taking on Covington, Tenn., at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday will begin at 10 a.m., with the Braves facing Covington. Charleston will follow at 11:30 a.m., against Liberty Tech, while Kennett takes on West Memphis at 1 p.m., and NMCC will battle Cairo in the finale at 2:30 p.m.

NMCC v. Cairo, Ill., 2:30 p.m.
